Request Your Samples with CATA Export

Sample Policy · LAB-PO06 · Version 1 · 6 October 2026

At CATA Export, we know that every coffee sample tells a story. Behind every bean, there are months of investigation and dedication: from the preparation of the land and the careful work of our coffee farmers during growth and harvest, to the time spent sourcing these coffees and the meticulous cupping, traceability and logistics processes.

We want to share this effort with you so you can find the perfect coffee for your roastery and although samples are sent free of charge it does not mean that they don’t have a cost. To ensure we provide you with the best service while respecting the hard work that is done here in Colombia, we invite you to review our sample shipping policy:

1. Sizes and Quantities

  • The maximum limit size of your green sample is 100g.
  • You can request a maximum of 8 samples per box.
  • Not sure where to start? We want to help you choose! If you need advice on selecting the coffees that best fit your profile, please contact your KAM directly!

2. Your Feedback Means Everything

The best way to honour the tremendous effort of our producers is by tasting the coffee and sharing your thoughts with us. Providing feedback on your samples is a strict requirement. Please note that our system will automatically pause the shipment of new samples for accounts that have pending feedback. Your opinion helps us improve and guides us in helping you make your next selection!

3. Exclusive and Limited Edition Lots

We offer exceptional quality coffees with limited availability (coffees valued over 30 EUR/GBP or 60 AUD). Due to their scarcity, samples of these lots are sent exclusively for genuine purchasing intent and not for exploratory purposes. These requests require prior validation from your Key Account Manager (KAM).

4. Roasted Sample Requests

Our standard practice is to send green coffee so you can evaluate its full potential using your own equipment. However, if for any exceptional reason you require your sample to be sent already roasted, please contact your KAM directly to process this request.

Important Note: Please keep in mind that roasted sample requests can take up to 2 or 3 weeks depending on the amount of samples that need to be processed.

Disclaimer: We do our best to roast these coffees according to industry standards, but we are well aware that you are the expert roaster. A sample roasted by us will not deliver the same results as if it were roasted by you. Also, please keep in mind that by roasting the coffee and shipping it to your destination, the sample will lose critical quality attributes, experiencing degassing, loss of volatile compounds (aromas), and a general decrease in freshness due to transit time.
